European Union General Data Protection Regulation

Protection of user privacy has always been a primary concern of The Talentboard Application. If you are a student applicant, school representative, recommender, or other individual based in a European Union country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland, and you provide The Talentboard Application with your personal data, you are now afforded new widespread privacy rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) effective May 25, 2018. Under the GDPR, new higher standards on what is considered the lawful processing of EU data are imposed; there are now more explicit privacy rights afforded to you; and there are now new accountability standards imposed on The Talentboard Application since we collect, handle, store and/or process your data.

EU data protection rules apply to individuals based in any of the following countries (except in the UK where the UK-GDPR protection rules apply):

The Talentboard Application platform exists specifically to collect data from applicants and recommenders and, with their consent, transmit it to selected member colleges and universities for the purposes of the applicant applying to those member institutions.  If you are based in an applicable country, during the account creation process in both the First Year application or the Transfer application, you will need to indicate that you have read and understand our Privacy Notice explaining how we use your personal information when you are using our services otherwise. you will not be able to create an account within the Common App or continue using the system.

Under the GDPR, you have certain rights over the data collected within the Common App (rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, etc.). To exercise any of these rights or to withdraw your consent at any time, please send your request to privacy@talentboard.io  

No personal data will be retained by The Talentboard Application if you do not complete the account creation process or if you withdraw your consent at a later time.
