About Netflix 2021 Security Internship Program
We hire the top talent for every position at Netflix, including interns. You will join a team of stunning colleagues who support each other’s success through open communication and honest feedback. You won’t be expected to know everything, but you should be ready to learn. You should also demonstrate exceptional personal and professional maturity. We are looking for undergraduates and Master’s student’s graduating in Winter 2021 or Summer 2022.
As a fast-moving company, we can’t predict exactly what you’ll be doing with us next summer, but if you’re ready for the challenge we’ll be ready for you. Here are the eight Security teams excited to work with an Intern in 2021:
Cloud Infrastructure Security
Netflix is known for innovation and massive scale in the public cloud. To deliver our amazing product experience, we operate our streaming service control plane on Amazon Web Services. In addition, our growing studio-related efforts and our entire corporate IT infrastructure are within AWS. Operating in the public cloud has unlocked tremendous capabilities for innovation and agility, and has led to one of the largest and most sophisticated AWS environments in the world.
Our Cloud Infrastructure Security team is tasked with securing this environment and protecting our members, employees, and intellectual property. As a security software engineering intern on the team, you will collaborate with us on developing tools that work reliably at scale and extending our operational excellence around securely operating a large cloud infrastructure with best practices such as least privilege and isolation.
The Corporate Security team owns the information security of our employees, partners, vendors and the employee technology environment (end-user devices, employee applications, corporate network infrastructure, etc.), Netflix’s regulatory compliance program (as it relates to IT), and our supply chain security program (including our customer service partners and SaaS applications). The team also owns company-wide security governance and policy, overall employee security awareness, security-related legal issues (e.g. contract language and terms), and our growing efforts in the areas of studio and production-related information security.
The Platform Security team designs, implements, and supports foundational services that help Netflix run securely in the cloud. We support authorization, authentication, identity, cryptography, certificate management, and more.
As an intern on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on production software running at a massive scale.

At Netflix, we have an unusual employee culture (in a great way). Our core philosophy is people over process. More specifically, we have great people working together as a dream team to solve real-world complex business problems and set high expectations from each team member, including Interns. We celebrate and operate with Freedom and Responsibility culture even in a Security team, which helps guide us to build the right user experience.
